About Southern Stars & IADCCT |
|
If you have completed your Duncan Certification we congratulate you and invite you to join IADCCT and our Southern Stars Chapter. IADCCT was formed by ceramic enthusiasts to further ceramic education and to support the ceramic industry. Southern Stars is one of the many chapters that IADCCT has throughout world.
Our Southern Stars Chapter meets every other month at different locations here in the Los Angeles area. Meetings are on Sunday to accommodate those members whose studios are open Saturdays. Our meetings normally consist of lunch and social hour followed by a business meeting and demonstration or “Make N Take”.
Joining our chapter along with International has many, many benefits. Our members are very supportive of each other and strive to make our chapter meetings not only educational but fun as well. We have hosted special member only educational classes and have had special “Summer Escape” getaways to Catalina Island, San Diego and Ventura-Anacapa Island. Southern Stars has supported the Regional Education Program by hosting regionals in Fresno, Buena Park and in Laughlin, Nevada. We also host two very special ceramic retreats every year — Laughlin Retreat in August and our Halloween Haunt in October. We also just held a Spring Fling Retreat that included Valentine, St. Patrick’s Day and even a Bunny project and as usual we had lots of fun!
Chapter dues are $15.00 per year, International Dues are $35.00 per year. You must be a member of International to join a chapter (both dues are normally collected at the same time if you belong to a chapter). These dues are renewable on or before November 31st of each year.
International membership entitles you to a quarterly newsletter, a yearly charm, a listing in the annual membership booklet and the privilege of attending an annual Convention along with all of the various educational programs. The Convention is held in Las Vegas, Nevada during January, usually 2 days, and is the most economical ceramic education available in the industry!!
